I wrote Patience over many years, hence the title.

Some lyrics I had stored away in notebooks, some lyrics I had held on one phone and transferred to another phone, while others I had memorized. Some songs took months to perfect, while others took a day or two. Our two singles, Meet Me in the Shadows and Skin & Bone, were released almost exactly a year apart, then this EP the following year.

I felt like it was taking me forever to release songs and finish them, and I was feeling frustrated and mentally blocked.

The EP cover is me as The Hanged Man tarot card. (I'm into tarot, astrology, and pretty much everything occult stuff.) While working on these songs, my fiancee and I would pull tarot cards, and I kept getting The Hanged Man. For those that don't know, The Hanged Man card suggests you are viewing the world from a different perspective and hanging there by your own choice, waiting for something suspended in time.
I truly felt like The Hanged Man. I felt like I was waiting and looking for a different perspective on each song. I didn't want to rush them and knew I had to be patient, despite friends, family, and fans asking for the next single and the EP. I felt I had to work on the EP as a whole and not merely focus on singles.

I decided Patience should be the title as a reminder to myself and others that sometimes you need a little perspective and patience.

The Dead Electrics are a beautifully dreadful buzz of electricity mixed with otherworldly synths. Their sound combines the poetic moodiness of the Doors mixed with a shadow of post-punk reminiscent of Interpol and a blend of early alternative.
