about
New Rituals is about shedding your skin and becoming a newer version of yourself.
Old rituals - habits, beliefs, baggage you carry around that don't serve you should be left in the past.
'New Rituals' came to me in a dream. I was walking through the desert outskirts of our city, and I came across a body bag. I was hesitant to open it, but I unzipped the bag anyway. I unzipped the bag, and the face that appeared inside was a younger version of myself.
I zipped the bag back up and dragged it through the desert with me. I found a place that felt right, set up a funeral pyre with anything I could find, and set it on fire.
I interpreted the dream as growth and change. Sometimes, it's unexpected, and it's not always pretty.

New Rituals
It's time to let the old die, let the new begin.
These rituals don't serve you, their time has come now.
Shed your skin and patch your scars.
Shatter and shed all that you knew.
Rip a scar open, stare long and hard.

Let it flow in a hundred waves, embrace the changes.
Those rituals don't serve, their time has come now.
Shed your skin and patch your scars.
Shatter and shed all that you knew.
Rip a scar open, kill the worm become the god.
Rip a scar open, kill the worm become the god.

The Dead Electrics are a beautifully dreadful buzz of electricity mixed with otherworldly synths. Their sound combines the poetic moodiness of the Doors mixed with a shadow of post-punk reminiscent of Interpol and a blend of early alternative.
Laid-back yet restless indie rock is heavy on the catchy melodies and unexpected musical choices that elevate the simplicity of the tunes. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 21, 2020
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
Big, clanging psych-rock from this Arizona outfit fuses monk-like vocals with slow-winding guitars for songs that feel like strange hymns. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2016
